We’ve all had those days when you leave home only to come to a halt and think, “Wait, did I put on a bra today?” Maybe you got all the way to your destination only to find you put your T-shirt on backward. Fortunately, Ariana Aubrey of Louisville, Kentucky, has a sense of humor about her own recent clothing mishap. But only after she sent an angry email to the store where she purchased her wedding gown because the dress she ordered online didn’t look anything like the photographs, only to be pleasantly informed that she was wearing the garment inside out.

Before her outfit arrived, Aubrey was already a bit nervous. She told CafeMom that many of the decisions she made for her wedding were economical in nature. She and her husband, William Aubrey, were married in a lovely courthouse ceremony but are saving up for a larger event next year if the epidemic permits.
“He’s an ER nurse, and I’m a paramedic,” she explains. “We’re older and have older children, so marriage and a wedding budget weren’t just about us.”
Aubrey and her husband are both in school, Aubrey for nursing and her husband for paramedic training, so time and money have to be carefully considered. They’ve resolved to take up a new phase in their wedding preparations each month.

“That month was dress month, and here we are,” she explains.
Many of the places where Aubrey would regularly shop were closed due to the outbreak.
Fortunately, her outfit came towards the end of October. It was a big relief for Aubrey, who was drowning in finals and working 16- to 24-hour hours.
“I was really delighted when I put it on when I got home from work one day,” she recalls.
“My husband was there, and I tried it on before realizing I needed him to lace me up.”
“I realized it wasn’t what I purchased right away, but the only way to obtain a refund was to show them how awful the goods were,” she adds.

“She went to her computer and sent an irate email to Milly Bridal, explaining that the gown “looked nothing like what I had bought” in a Facebook post.
But it turns out that there was a valid reason for that. It took some time to obtain a response, but on November 4, a Milly Bridal employee pointed Aubrey in the correct direction in a very diplomatic email.
“You put on the dress inside out; please put it on correctly.” Oops!
“Who knew wedding gowns were packed inside out?” The mother posted on the internet.
And do you know what else? “The outfit actually came out stunning,” she thought.

“Sometimes, no matter how much school we put behind us, we’ll still lack common sense, like how to put clothing on properly,” she joked.
Many others asked how she could have missed the fact that the clothing was inside out. But she had several reasons:
“no sleep, finals week, husband laced me up and was also upset with the look of it, in a rush between jobs, skepticism with the company to begin with, anger at ordering online rather than shutting down dress shops during a pandemic, the stress of wedding and pandemic in general.” “And I have no understanding about fashion or shipping measures for formal outfits because I work in scrubs and military boots,” she stated.

Aubrey has subsequently apologized to the firm and wanted to share her tale to give comic relief on Election Day. She even shared the gaffe in several bridal groups on Facebook to provide some much-needed laughter as folks waited for results. Her post has since received over 1,300 likes on social media, and she claims the feedback has been highly favorable.
