Gerard Pique was spotted with a new girlfriend, Clara Chia, on Wednesday, November 16.
The footballer was seen hanging out with the PR student after dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Spain.
“Pique was seen holding hands with the PR student, 23, as they stood and chatted outside the eatery following their meal.”
“Gerard’s outing with his new love comes after he and ex Shakira reached a custody agreement over their sons following their split earlier this year,” Daily Mail reported.
The new couple was pictured together holding hands, and the sportsman was seen holding her white handbag.
According to Daily Mail, “Gerard cut a casual figure for their date, opting for a plain white T-shirt which he teamed with dark jeans and black and white trainers.”
“Meanwhile, Clara went for a more dressed-up look, slipping into a black trouser suit and off-white loafers. The beauty at one point was seen balancing on one foot as she adjusted her sock.”
Pique’s date night pictures with his new girlfriend surfaced after it was confirmed that he and ex-girlfriend Shakira reached a custody agreement for their sons Milan and Sasha.
The 35-year-old also announced his retirement from football over the weekend in a heartfelt video he posted on social media.
“It is the moment to end this stage of my life,” he said. “Football has given me everything. Barcelona has given me everything. You, culers (Barcelona fans), have given me everything.”
“And now that (this) kid’s dreams have come true, I want to tell you that I’ve decided that now is the time to bring this journey to its end.”
Pique was a player with Braca until 2004. After that, he joined Manchester United for four years. He rejoined Catalan Giants in 2008.
“During his time at Barcelona, he has played more than 600 games and won 30 trophies, including eight La Liga titles, three Champions League trophies, and seven Copa del Rey titles.” BBC wrote.
The footballer ended his video message by saying he’d return to Barca’s famous ground, “You know me, sooner or later, I will be back. I’ll see you at Camp Nou. Long live Barca. Always.”
Daily Mail also reported that after his retirement, Gerard gave his blessings to his former partner, the Latina singer Shakira, as she moves to Miami over the New Year with their two sons.
“Shakira’s wish to move to the city where she used to live and part of her family are based is understood to have been the principal sticking point in the couple’s previous failure to strike an out-of-court settlement.”
After a 12-hour-long meeting with their legal times, the duo agreed and decided that both did not want a lengthy legal battle.
In a joint statement released Tuesday, the ex-couple said they had made this decision for their kids.
“We wish to communicate that we have signed an agreement that guarantees the welfare of our children and that will be ratified in court as part of a mere formal procedure.”
“Our sole objective is to provide them with the utmost security and protection, and we trust that their privacy will be respected.”
“We appreciate the interest shown and hope that the children can continue with their lives with the necessary privacy in a safe and calm environment.” – “Shakira and Gerard.”
