People do have an idea of how it sucks to be in such a situation yet they expect you to be fine with it, and like it, and moreover, never ever complain about it.
They’ll never fail to rain down clichs on you. You’ve heard and read all of them and you don’t really want any more of them, but sadly it’s not a choice. As long as you’re single, you’re going to have to put up with the, soon enough’, you deserved much better anyway’, or good things come to those who wait’, among many others.
Not that you need to be in a relationship and that you just can’t stand being single, it just eats at you all the same. You know nothing good is going to come out of it and that it’s beyond your control, but you just can’t stop fixating around it.
The constant comparison only works to agitate you. Seeing all your exes in their relationships may make you think on the grounds of a lot of what ifs’. What if it had worked out between us? What if I get into a relationship now? Will it make things better? Even though your mind might wander off in these directions, but you immediately brush off all these thoughts. Because, ultimately, you do understand that there is no quick fix to this situation, and that you’d come to terms with it, but ever so eventually. You might think that something about you is so offish, that you can’t find anyone. You may indulge in self-pity, and it’s alright. Just don’t overindulge.
Even though you might wish well for your exes, but having to actually see them with someone kind of triggers something inside you. You want what’s best for them, but you can’t take it all that well at the same time. Moreover, you want the same things for yourself, and the waiting part is pure torture.
So even though you might beat yourself up about it time and again, doubt yourself, doubt having a future relationship and so many similar things, don’t lose hope. Don’t give up. Don’t stress over what the future holds, you can’t control it. You’re not perfect, but so is no one else. Love yourself, and love your imperfections even more. There are so many perks to being single, make sure you enjoy each and every one of them, before the right one comes along.
