Matt Damon brought his daughter Isabella as his date to the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on November 2. He was there to work. She was there to be seen, and she was.

Highlights

  • Matt Damon attended the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York with daughter Isabella as his date.
  • Isabella wore a white crochet Luar gown; designer Raul Lopez commented “Iconic sis” on her Instagram.
  • Matt presented Ralph Lauren with the American Menswear Designer of the Year award.

Page Six called it a father-daughter night at the museum. The ceremony was held at the American Museum of Natural History, where Matt Damon presented Ralph Lauren with the award for American Menswear Designer of the Year.

Matt, 56, dressed for the man he was honoring. Page Six reported he wore a Ralph Lauren Purple Label double-breasted tuxedo and skipped the shirt and tie for a black cashmere turtleneck. E! Online noted the dress shoes and the matching turtleneck. Classic. Quiet. Very much a dad who knew the night was not about his outfit.

Isabella signed with IMG Models in August, according to Page Six Style. In September she starred in J.Crew’s Barn Jacket campaign. Isabella Damon attended the CFDA Awards red carpet in a white gown after signing with IMG Models in August.

Isabella Stuns in a White Crochet Gown

Her gown came from Luar’s spring 2027 collection. White crochet, floor-length, with silky fringe at the cuffs and hem, per Page Six. E! Online added a black clutch, statement earrings and an updo that kept the earrings on display.

Luar designer Raul Lopez weighed in on her Instagram post from the evening. E! Online reported his comment: “Iconic sis.” Isabella answered by calling him a genius.

Luar is a label with a famous client list. Page Six pointed out that Beyoncé wore a custom pinstriped Luar dress during Jay-Z’s Yankee Stadium run in July. Lady Gaga picked the brand too, wearing a baby-blue Luar gown for her surprise cameo in Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show in February.

Father-Daughter Bond on the Red Carpet

Matt Damon has spent decades on red carpets. Bringing a daughter who now works in fashion to a fashion awards show is a different kind of appearance. He was the presenter. Isabella Damon wore a stunning white crochet gown at the 2026 CFDA Awards.

Plenty of famous parents would find that awkward. Matt looked comfortable stepping back.

Family structure helps explain it. He told CBS in July that he and his wife, Luciana Barroso Damon, keep a rule that the family never goes more than two weeks without seeing each other. They broke it while he filmed Stillwater in 2021. He said the rule has since been put firmly back in place, according to E! Online.

Two weeks is a short leash for a family with a working actor, a working model and a stepdaughter who, per E! Online, has worked on camera teams all over the world. The rule is less about control and more about refusing to let separate careers turn into separate lives.

Matt Expresses Excitement for Isabella’s Career

He said as much on the carpet. “I’m really excited to see what she does with her life,” Matt told People, as reported by Page Six.

Pride, yes, but no plan in that sentence. No steering. He did not say where he hoped modeling would lead or whether she should follow him into film. He talked the same way to E! News in July about his other daughters. He mentioned one he could see heading into screenwriting. Then he added that the youngest two were still in high school, so the family would wait and see.

Supporting an adult child’s ambitions mostly means showing up and keeping your opinions small. Matt Damon showed up in a turtleneck, handed Ralph Lauren an award, and let his daughter’s gown get the headlines.

Isabella has a contract, a campaign and a designer publicly praising her look. What she books next has not been announced.
