We are slowly entering a difficult period of life in the world as food shortages and price hikes are slowly taking over. Gas prices are at an all-time high and basic food supply keeps becoming less and less. Among this shortage of food and basic groceries – formula milk is hit the hardest, stressing mothers and parents everywhere in the United States.

Luckily, Alyssa Chitti is among a group of mothers who have vowed to help in this shortage. Alyssa spoke to FOX 13 where she explained that they’re currently keeping three freezers full of breastmilk. Alyssa, along with other Utah moms, is providing massive support to the community by doing so. As they continue to support each other, these mothers are also navigating unexpected relationship challenges that arise from this unique situation. Balancing their family needs while engaging in community efforts can be demanding, yet they find strength in their shared experiences. By forming a close-knit network, they not only provide for their own children but also foster resilience and understanding among one another.

Alyssa joked about the space in her freezers being completely occupied, while speaking to FOX 13 – she said:

“I figure I’m running out of room, so might as well help someone else,”

“I know I have over 3,000 ounces – 3,000 ounces downstairs and probably almost 1,000 upstairs.”

Alyssa also spoke to FOX 13 about first thinking of donating her breastmilk to a local milk bank, but the idea slowly changed because of their strenuous and long screening times.

“I was working with a group on it, but my daughter has SMA, and we’ve been in and out of primaries, and so it’s just been hard to go do the bloodwork and go do all the other stuff, and that’s the only thing that stopped me from doing that part,”

Eventually, she decided to sell her breastmilk online at a very reasonable rate of $1 per ounce. And of course, for those who can’t afford it – she is more than willing to cooperate with them and bring the price down to their liking. It’s a pure gesture of helping out and doing what’s best for humanity.

Alyssa and the group of moms have received massive praises online where people are applauding their efforts of making it easy for the suffering mothers out there.
