NFL star Shaquil Barrett’s wife, Jordanna speaks out for the first time after the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Arrayah, drowned in their family pool.
According to The Tampa Bay Times, “Arrayah Barrett, who celebrated her second birthday on April 19, was taken to the hospital but attempts to save her life were unsuccessful.”
Taking to her Instagram account, Jordanna penned a heartbreaking message for her late daughter, Arrayah, alongside a beautiful photo of the little angel from her recent birthday.
“Thank you all for all the messages, flowers, thoughts and prayers. Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers. I love you so much my baby. I am so so sorry,” she wrote.
“Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always. I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close.”
The 30-year-old continued, “I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here, until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always.”
The toddler died on Sunday, April 30, after drowning in the family pool at the couple’s Tampa Bay residence.
Following the accident, the authorities arrived at the scene, and Arrayah was taken to a nearby local hospital, where the doctors pronounced her dead after lifesaving measures.
After the news of her death became public, the Buccaneers released an official statement via Twitter.
“Today’s tragic news is heartbreaking for all the members of the Buccaneers family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna, and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time,” the statement read.
“While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah.”
