Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Relationship Timeline

Abigail Renee Abigail Renee | November 6, 2026 | 5 min read

Yes, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are together, and they’re married now. They married on July 3, 2026, in a private ceremony at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. That came after about three years together, which started with a failed friendship-bracelet pitch in the summer of 2023. The latest news is a holiday one. In a Tommy Hilfiger campaign video posted November 5, Travis said “I’m excited for this year to be my first Christmas as a married man”. He added that his “perfect” holiday would include playing in a night game on Christmas Day and being with his “entire family.”

July 2023: The Friendship Bracelet That Didn’t Get Delivered

It all started at a concert. In July 2023, Travis went to Swift’s Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. He’d made her a bracelet, and he talked about it on his podcast: “I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”

He never got to hand it over. On New Heights he admitted, “I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

September 24, 2023: Taylor Shows Up at Arrowhead

Taylor took him up on the invite. She spent the day cheering for him from his suite, sitting next to his mom, Donna, while the Chiefs played the Chicago Bears (and won). Football fans and Swifties all lost it at once.

November 11, 2023: “Karma Is the Guy on the Chiefs”

This is the night it felt official. At her show in Buenos Aires, Swift sang “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me” in place of the original lyric. Kelce looked as surprised as everyone else and covered his face for a second. He was watching from the VIP tent next to her dad, Scott Swift. After the show, Swift ran straight into Kelce’s arms and kissed him.

December 2023: Taylor Talks About Him for the First Time

When TIME named her Person of the Year, Taylor said they started dating soon after Kelce “very adorably put [her] on blast on his podcast”. She also described how they take turns showing up at each other’s games and shows. Her short version: “We’re just proud of each other.”

February 11, 2024: A Super Bowl Win

Swift watched Super Bowl LVIII with her mom, Andrea Swift, plus famous friends like Ice Spice and Blake Lively. The Chiefs won, and it was Travis’ third Super Bowl win. The next day the two were seen at Super Bowl afterparties, dancing on video to her hit “Love Story.”

June 23, 2024: Travis Joins the Eras Tour Stage

Then it was his turn to step into her world. On June 23, 2024, he appeared onstage during Swift’s show at Wembley Stadium in London. Kelce later said on New Heights that joining her onstage had been his idea in the first place.

February 9, 2025: Super Bowl, Round Two

A year later Taylor was back for her second Super Bowl, watching the Chiefs play her hometown team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City didn’t win this one, but she was there for the loss too.

August 13, 2025: Taylor Goes on New Heights

In a big moment for the podcast, Swift revealed details of her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on New Heights. She also talked openly about Travis and called him “just a vibe booster in everyone’s life that he’s in.”

August 26, 2025: “Your English Teacher and Your Gym Teacher Are Getting Married”

They shared the big news in a joint Instagram post. Taylor’s caption read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.” The photos showed Kelce kneeling in a garden and Taylor wearing a large ring.

The proposal had actually happened earlier. Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, said his son proposed nearly two weeks before, at home in Missouri.

July 3, 2026: The Wedding at Madison Square Garden

All the guessing about the venue ended on the Fourth of July eve. They married inside Madison Square Garden in front of a reported 1,000 guests. In a fun surprise, Adam Sandler officiated. He starred with Travis in “Happy Gilmore 3,” and his wife and daughters are well-known Swift fans.

They skipped bridesmaids and groomsmen. Taylor’s younger brother Austin was her man of honor, and Travis’ older brother Jason was his best man. Taylor wore a white dress with a long veiled train, and Travis wore a white tuxedo. Both were designed by Jonathan Anderson, Dior’s creative director. They were pronounced husband and wife at 7:22 pm.

September 2026: Travis Talks About the Big Night

Travis gave his first in-depth comments about the wedding on New Heights. He talked about the celebrities who came and about officiant Adam Sandler. The guest list mixed huge stars like Tom Cruise, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Brad Pitt with lifelong friends and family. Jason joked that the party kept going until “they kicked us out.”

Travis has also told reporters the “Wedding was the best night of my life.” As of early September, no official photos had been released, and Swift had not yet commented publicly on the wedding.

Where They Stand Now

Four months in, they’re juggling married life and two busy careers. Travis is in his 14th season with Kansas City, and it hasn’t been an easy fall. The Chiefs recently lost 28-24 to the Denver Broncos. Taylor, meanwhile, is campaigning for her first Oscar nomination with her Toy Story 5 song.

Not every headline has been sweet. Take this one with a grain of salt: in late October 2026, the Daily Mail published photos from inside the wedding, and unnamed sources claim Taylor was upset that they came out without the couple’s consent. The same tabloid also cites an insider saying they’ve “happily adjusted to life as husband and wife“. Neither of them has confirmed any of it.

What we do have is straight from Travis this week, and he sounds excited for the holidays. “I’m excited for my first holiday as a married man,” he said. Three years after a bracelet he never managed to give her, they’re getting ready for their first Christmas as husband and wife.
