After getting married in 2013, KC and Lena Currie were eager to create their own family. They eventually adopted an 18-month-old boy named Joey in November 2017, and when they first met at the adoption event hosted by Children’s Friend in Worcester, it was love at first sight.
“Children’s Friend said it would be an excellent match after seeing a picture of Joey,” Lena explains.
Soon after, the two received a call from Children’s Friend informing them that Joey’s younger brother, Noah, who was only six weeks old at the time, also required a home.
KC allegedly remarked, “We answered yes right away.”
The Centre contacted the parents again a month after accepting Noah to let them know their sons have a middle brother named Logan. The corpse was not adopted but had been residing with a foster family. The couple ultimately decided to take him along after considerable consideration.
“It was our gut instinct because we valued maintaining the boys; we were ultimately going to say yes,” KC continued.
“They’ll have each other to depend on and share the experience with when they’re older and have questions.”
The Worcester courts saw the conclusion of Logan and Joey’s adoption procedure in 2019. The three brothers now have Lena and KC as their legal parents, and they are all looking forward to spending their days together in joy and love. According to Lena, they are addressed as Mama and Mommy by the kids, and they strive to be the most exemplary mothers ever. According to KC, they can now begin daydreaming about elementary schools, sports, and other activities.
“It’s what you hope will occur. They have a lovely family. They are adaptable and genuinely comprehend the child’s needs, the value of preserving sibling relationships, and the long-term effects of that, “according to Veronica Listerud, director of adoption and family services at Children’s Friend, a nonprofit organization associated with Seven Hills Foundation.
The family is finally all reunited, and they couldn’t be happier. Lena and KC are addressed as “mother” and “mama,” respectively. Most of the time, Joey says, “mommy-mama.” The Currie family posted pictures of the boys’ first holiday together, showing how content and cherished they are. The pair hopes that sharing their story will inspire others to think about adoption. Consequently, KC and Lena anticipate the boys throwing more dance parties, enjoying the holidays, and seeing the three interact as they mature.
