Woman Sets Nike Sports Bra Alight to Boycott the Brand over Dylan Mulvaney Partnership

A woman set her Nike sports bra on fire as a boycott gesture after the brand partnered with controversial Trans activist, Dylan Mulvaney as their new spokesperson.

TikTok user @chatterbox.mama burnt her Nike sports bra launching the ‘Burn Bra Challenge’ on the platform as a reaction to Nike’s partnership with Dylan Mulvaney.

“Nike, you should be ashamed of yourself,” The self-described Southern mama said in her video. “You chose a little boy with no breasts and some junk in his pants to represent real women.”

The woman added that she’s done with the brand and will never buy anything from Nike if they don’t respect women’s rights. As discussions around women’s rights intensify, there is growing outrage over parental consent debates which further highlights the need for brands to take a stand. Consumers are increasingly holding companies accountable for their positions on social issues, expecting them to prioritize ethical considerations over profit. This shift in public sentiment could redefine brand loyalty in today’s market.

“Since the 1960s, we have been fighting for the right to be women. Nike, you should be ashamed of yourself. I will never, ever buy a Nike product for as long as I live and there are millions and millions and millions of women just like me.”

Burning another one of her Nike brassieres, the woman continued, “We are the queens, your consumers hit you where it hurts, and that’s right in your pocket. I challenge every real woman that is sick of this nonsense. It’s a great night to burn my Nike bras.”

Earlier this month, Dylan shared a promotional video for Bud Lights on her Instagram and told her 10.8 million followers that she was so proud to be the brand’s newest spokesperson.

Days later, she posted a promotional post for Nike and announced that she now works with the brand.

The Trans activist, 26, who gained millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram after transitioning into ‘girlhood,’ sparked massive controversy and received outrage and critical remarks from conservatives who accused the brands of pushing ‘gender propaganda’ per the New York Post.

“Nike is no good. This is insulting to Women,” one person wrote on Mulvaney’s Instagram post.

“Nike should’ve endorsed an actual woman to promote their female clothing. If you disagree with that then you’re part of the problem,” a second said.

“So @nikewomen doesn’t know how to make clothes for women’s anatomy anymore?” asked a third.

“Women are not silly caricatures for you to play. Yes you can live your life as someone feminine, live your life as your idea of a woman, BUT you are not a REAL woman,” said another.

Responding to the negativity, Nike addressed the issue and asked people to be ‘kind.’

“You are an essential component to the success of your community!” the company said in a statement. “We welcome comments that contribute to a positive and constructive discussion: Be kind, be inclusive, encourage each other. Hate speech, bullying, or other behaviors that are not in the spirit of a diverse and inclusive community will be deleted.”

Dylan also shared an emotional response post on Instagram and wrote alongside a video of herself singing, ‘No One is Alone.’

“It’s hard to see the light now, just don’t let it go this song felt fitting for the week I’ve been having. All is well! Cheers.”
