They say love doesn’t know any bounds – such is today’s story. It’s about a 22-year-old biology graduate, Brightnye, who fell in love with a 57-year-old divorcee, James. Brightnye is from New Zealand and she doesn’t mind the massive age gap with James – saying it’s true love. James has four daughters.
Brightnye shares her relationship escapades with James on TikTok “Unlikely Love,” where they talk about how their age gap doesn’t change the way they feel about each other. They live in Queensland and are apparently very happy together.
In one of their videos, James talked about the age gap:
“Sure the age gap is massive, there’s no doubt about it, but as they always say, love is love.”
The two met when James saw Brightnye buying nine sandwiches and that caught his attention – love was in the air. He said:
“I thought anyone who could buy nine sandwiches is someone I needed to talk to.”
Talking about his previous marriage, James said:
“I was married for 30 years… Every relationship, certainly traditional relationships, the man looks after the woman so of course you’re going to spend money,”
The two get a lot of negative comments on their TikTok videos, but they don’t slow the couple down. James talked about the comments:
“But there are a lot of comments about money. ‘She’s only in it for the money’ is ridiculous.”
While a lot of comments are also supportive, James said:
“There’s lots of love, so thank you to everyone who’s mature enough to understand.”
Brightnye’s mother is going to be visiting the couple and living with them for a week, she spoke about it in one of her videos:
“She’s coming over to live with us for a week so we’re going to find out what she thinks of our relationship,”
