9 Signs That Your Partner Is Definitely Taking You For Granted

A little show of appreciation and gratitude can go a really long way in a relationship. It’s always nice to feel valued and appreciated especially by the one that you love. However, your partner might not necessarily appreciate you the way that you want to be appreciated. Or at the very least, they don’t do anything that makes it seem like they are grateful for what you do for them. They don’t seem to value what you bring to the table. They don’t seem to be thankful for everything that you give to the relationship. It’s as if all of your efforts are wasted on them. It’s as if nothing you do in the relationship seems to make a difference. You might be in a relationship with someone who is definitely taking you for granted.

And when you have someone who just doesn’t see you for the amazing and beautiful person you really are, should you even be in a relationship together? Your partner always needs to be seeing and acknowledging all of the great and wonderful things that you do for them and the relationship. You don’t want to be in love with someone who is constantly damaging your confidence and sense of self-worth.

You don’t want to be with anyone who is a threat to your self-esteem. You don’t want to be in a relationship with someone who feeds into your insecurities; someone who makes you think that all of your efforts and intentions are worthless in the grand scheme of things. You should never be made to feel like you aren’t good enough – especially by the person you are in love with. You don’t want to be in a relationship with someone who seems indifferent and disinterested in you. You always deserve better than that.

That’s why when it comes to pursuing a happy and healthy relationship, you need to be able to show your gratitude and appreciation towards your partner. You always need to be doing your part in making sure that your partner knows just how important they are to you; just how much you value who they are and what they offer to the relationship. You need to be able to convince your partner know that you aren’t complacent and that you don’t feel entitled to how they treat you. You always need to make sure that your partner knows that you don’t take them for granted. If you act indifferent and unappreciative, then you are essentially dooming your own relationship. You always need to be giving your partner the recognition and appreciation that they are due.

But what if you’re the one who isn’t getting the appreciation and gratitude that you deserve? Is it okay for you to sit idly by as your partner treats you like trash? Of course not. You always deserve to feel appreciated and loved for all of the things that you do for your relationship. And if your partner doesn’t recognize that; if your partner is unwilling to give you that validation, then you’re really not mean to be. Your partner doesn’t really love you and you need to move on to someone who does.

Here are a few signs that you are being taken for granted by your own partner.

1. They never tell you “thank you” for your efforts.

A little “thank you” can go a long way in a relationship. It’s very simple, and yet, they are still unable to say it to you? It just goes to show how little they think of you.

2. They never ask you for your opinion or advice.

They don’t respect you enough to ask for your opinion on things. They think very lowly of you that they don’t want to hear about what you think.

3. They make plans right away without consulting you.

You don’t seem to get a say in the relationship. You are merely strapped in for the ride and they’re calling all of the shots. They think that you will just bend at their will.

4. They don’t put in their fair share of effort for the relationship.

They are merely content to watch you carry the relationship all by yourself. they don’t see this relationship as something that requires a team effort at all.

5. They don’t really try to be romantic towards you.

If they don’t make an effort to be romantic in this relationship, then that says a lot about how they feel about you.

6. They cheat on you.

Does this even need further explanation?

7. They don’t really ask you much about your life in general.

They don’t really ask you about how you’re feeling or how your day is going. They don’t express a general interest in your existence at all.

8. They just invalidate or dismiss your feelings.

Whenever you want to get something off your chest, they make it seem like you’re being unreasonable or you’re just acting crazy.

9. They don’t give you stability and consistency.

They are hot and cold. They don’t give you the consistency that you really need to be secure in your own relationship with them.
