Fans are ripping Beyoncé and Jay-Z after the couple paid $200 million ‘in cash’ to buy one of the most expensive homes in the United States.
The house has an amazing view and is located near a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The 30,000 square feet estate was designed by Japanese master architect Tadao Ando who is best known in the United States for designing and building the Modern Art Museum of Forth Worth.
“The home was created for Bill Bell Jr., an heir to a soap opera fortune. It took Bell Jr. ‘over a decade and a half to finish construction on the concrete property,’ according to Architectural Digest. The broker for the deal was Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency, whose other clients include Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Madonna,” per Vanity Fair.
The property is apparently the most expensive house to be ever sold in Carolina.
But despite everything, Beyonce and Jay-Z fans have labeled the home ugly and sterile and claimed it has no charm in its design, structure, and finishing.
While some called it a useless purchase and compared it with prison, others claimed they could have built much better houses if they had that amount of money.
“All the charm of an empty Costco distribution center,” one wrote.
“It will never fail to surprise me how celebrities can buy such ugly homes worth $200M that looks like a construction site,” a second said.
“They really spent $200 mill for Prison walls when they could have just bought a prison since it looks identical. Saved money too!” a third added.
“It’s ugly Looks like a WWII bunker or abandoned mall. Ain’t nobody gonna catch a cold in that house ’cause it is sterile!” a fourth noted.
“I could build that in Minecraft costing me only $20 and 37 mins of my time,” another fan said.
“Celebrities shitting on us about climate change then buying waterfront properties will always be hilarious to me,” someone wrote.
“That’s the ugliest house I have ever seen so jokes on them.”
The pop stars made the purchase last week and have reportedly paid the amount in cash.
Despite their super expensive purchase, the superstars bank accounts won’t see any big differences as the Empire State of Mind rapper is a billionaire and currently his net worth is around $2.5 billion, according to Forbes. Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s net worth is around $500 million.
