Billy Ray Cyrus Celebrates Love for Elizabeth Hurley on Instagram

Billy Ray Cyrus used Instagram this week to thank Elizabeth Hurley in the most public way a country singer can: with a song. The new version of “You Are My Everything” came out on Friday, November 6, and according to Us Weekly, he closed his post about it with a dedication to “my dearest Elizabeth.”

Neither of them has publicly confirmed an engagement. The ring rumors are still just rumors.

Billy Ray Cyrus Releases New Song Dedicated to Elizabeth Hurley

Cyrus first put the song out in October 2007, under the title “My Everything,” on his album Home at Last. The rerecording lands on the deluxe edition of his album The Hill. He announced it on Wednesday, November 3, and posted a clip from the music video two days later.

Credit for the comeback goes to his daughter. Us Weekly reported that Cyrus recalled driving her to the Hannah Montana set about 20 years ago. Along the way, she kept insisting the song was the best he had ever written and demanded to know if he was actually listening.

He recorded the new version with his son. He dedicated it to that same daughter and her fiancé, wishing them forever love with a string of hearts and a butterfly.

Two dedications, then. One to his daughter’s engagement. One to his own relationship, still unlabeled.

Engagement Rumors Sparked by Hurley’s Diamond Ring

Hurley, 61, started the speculation in October. Us Weekly reported she shared mirror selfies wearing a diamond on her left ring finger, and said nothing about it.

Billy Ray Cyrus, 65, did not shut it down. He added a ring emoji to his own Instagram posts. On October 30 he wrote a short verse about how forever is a funny thing and how love can make a diamond ring, then compared love to a field of snow.

Ring finger. Ring emoji. A poem about diamonds. And still no announcement.

Couples who have been through public divorces often do exactly this. Both Cyrus and Hurley have past relationships the world watched end. Saying “engaged” out loud invites the same scrutiny again. Letting a photo and an emoji do the talking keeps a little of it private while making the point anyway. The message lands with the people who matter, and the paperwork stays nobody else’s business.

Cyrus Expresses Gratitude for Love in Recent Instagram Post

Us Weekly reported the pair met in 2022 on the Caribbean island of Nevis, filming the holiday movie Christmas in Paradise. They began dating in early 2025.

His caption on the video clip was spare. What a year it had been, he wrote, and he was thankful for God’s timing. Then came the line about Hurley: “It’s been a magical couple of years.”

Billy Ray Cyrus called it “a magical couple of years” in his toast to Hurley. Do the arithmetic. They have been dating since early 2025, which is not quite a couple of years. They have known each other since 2022, when they met filming Christmas in Paradise on Nevis, and that is longer. His count seems to start on that set in Nevis, not on the first official date. By his math, the clock started there, long before the romance went public.

The song itself is old. He wrote it nearly two decades ago, long before Hurley was in the picture. Choosing to rerecord it now, and to hand it to her by name, says more than writing something new would have. He is telling her she fits a song he already believed in.

Lyrics from the track, as quoted by Us Weekly, promise to stand beside someone and fight for their dreams. He sings it at 65, after a long public life and more than one public ending.

Whether the diamond means what everyone thinks it means, neither Cyrus nor Hurley has said.
