The conditions in Ukraine continue to worsen each day, and we keep hoping for good news to come through. While the past two weeks have been tremendously traumatizing for Ukrainians, they have also shown the world how humanity still thrives regardless of the circumstances and conditions it faces.
Recent footage took rounds on social media and became viral on Twitter. It shows a Russian soldier who’s allegedly surrendered in Ukraine – but he’s being taken care of by the people of Ukraine.
In this emotional video, the soldier can be seen having tea and snacks – which proves he hadn’t eaten in a while. A woman is also holding a phone to him, helping him speak to his mother. The soldier is in tears while speaking to his mother.
A Reddit user, yourdadisabean, posted a translation of the video to explain the context.
According to the context, the soldier’s mother is Natasha. The woman who’s helping the soldier talk to his mother keeps comforting Natasha and tells her, “everything is good.”
The video is so heartbreaking yet endearing to watch as it truly shows how powerful and unbreakable love is – regardless of the conditions of the love. Humanity will always thrive, and love will forever survive. As shown in this video, this soldier received support, love, and care.
Responding on Twitter, people from all over the world have sent a lot of love and support:
