Jeremy Renner was Completely Crushed by 14,330-pound Snowplow, Sheriff confirms

It has been confirmed that the Marvel star was run over by an extremely large snowplow weighing a little more than seven tons.

The 51-year-old Oscar nominee suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries while plowing snow near his home in Lake Tahoe on January 1.

A spokesperson of Renner stated that the actor has undergone two surgeries following the accident and remains in critical but stable condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

The actor was hospitalized in Nevada, where he was taken after being critically injured.

“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” Renner’s representative told Deadline on Monday.

According to Daily Mail, a 911 emergency call was made after Renner was run over by a 14330-pound heavy snow removal equipment, and it was reported that his right chest collapsed and his upper torso was badly crushed.

“The emergency log, obtained by TMZ, included notes from the accident that said Renner could be heard moaning in the background of the call and was experiencing heavy bleeding from his head and other injuries.”

“The injuries to his chest and torso were reportedly making it difficult for the Marvel star to breathe before he was airlifted to a nearby hospital from the scene of the accident at about 10 am on Sunday morning near his home in the Reno area.”

It was also reported that the Hawkeye actor was the only one involved in the accident, and an investigation is currently in process.

Renner, whose hometown is Modesto, California, has earned a reputation for being a generous and compassionate individual who goes above and beyond to help others.

And this tragic accident also occurred while he was trying to help a family member retrieve a stuck vehicle “out of the estimated 3 feet of snowfall from the night before,” per PEOPLE.

On Tuesday, January 3, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam held a press conference and confirmed that the Hawkeye actor was trying to get the vehicle moving.

“Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully, or snowcat — an extremely large piece of snow-removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds — in an effort to get his vehicle moving. After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member,” said Sheriff Balaam.

“At this point, it is observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully,” he added.

The Sheriff also said that at this point in the investigation, the authorities believe that Renner was not impaired at all.

“The investigation is ongoing; however, we do not suspect any foul play. I’ll repeat that: We do not suspect any foul play. We believe this was a tragic accident.”

Jeremy, who proved himself to be a real-life Avenger, spoke about the incident for the first time on Wednesday, January 4, and posted a selfie from the hospital and thanked his well-wishers.
