Megan Fox has nothing to say about Machine Gun Kelly’s new romance with Dakota Johnson, and according to a source who spoke to TMZ on October 22, she does not care to. The source described Fox as not bothered at all by her ex-fiancé moving on, adding that she has no interest in getting involved in his love life.
Fox herself has said nothing publicly. Page Six reached out to her rep, who did not immediately respond. Everything known about her state of mind comes from unnamed sources.
Megan Fox’s Current Mindset
TMZ’s source framed it bluntly. “Megan’s put their former romance firmly in the rearview,” they said, adding that she has bigger things on her plate.
Motherhood and money are the bigger things on Fox’s plate, per Page Six. Fox, 40, is single and wants to stay that way, The Blast added, with her daughter and her income at the top of the list. She launched an exclusive content page on Subs.com and has an ad campaign running for a telehealth company.
Megan Fox has been here before. Her longest relationship before MGK was with actor Brian Austin Green, whom she met in 2004 on the set of the sitcom Hope & Faith. She was 18. He was 30. They got engaged in 2008, married in 2010, separated and reconciled more than once, and split for good in 2019. They share three sons.
Two long relationships. Both on and off. Both ending with children to raise across two homes.
Read against that history, the TMZ report sounds less like a woman shrugging off an ex and more like someone who has learned exactly where the door goes. Cutting contact down to the one topic that matters is the opposite of reconciling. It removes the openings.
MGK and Dakota Johnson’s Growing Relationship
MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, is 36. Johnson is 37. According to Page Six, the two met at Taylor Swift’s wedding in July.
Romance rumors started in September, when they were spotted in New York City. Page Six reported that they spent private time at Swift’s Tribeca apartment before dinner at Estela. A source told the outlet there was “definitely chemistry” between them and that nothing about the evening felt forced.
Johnson then sat front row at Vogue World 2026: Milano on September 22, where MGK performed. Earlier this month, Page Six reported that MGK spent the night at Johnson’s Los Angeles home after finishing a studio session.
Neither has confirmed anything. A source told People the two “aren’t ready to go official yet,” describing dates that never made it into photos and a relationship growing closer without a label on it.
Johnson’s own split came in July 2025, when she and longtime partner Chris Martin ended things. Both of them, then, arrived at that July wedding fresh out of something long.
The Co-Parenting Dynamic
MGK and Megan Fox met in 2020 while filming Midnight in the Switchgrass. They announced their engagement in January 2022. The timeline of the ending depends on the outlet. The same insider claimed MGK will always have a soft spot for Fox but gave up on a romantic relationship with her months ago.
Narrow contact is a deliberate choice, and an underrated one. Exes who share a child often keep the old channels open out of habit, texting about pickup and drifting into everything else. Old arguments come back through the side door. A rule that the only topic is the child closes that door without anyone having to slam it.
Fox and MGK, if the sources are right, have landed on exactly that. Both sides describe the same arrangement, even if neither has said it on the record.
