Mickey Rourke Thinks Tom Cruise Is Not A Good Actor & Calls Him Irrelevant

After a long, excruciating wait of 36 years, Tom Cruise’s blockbuster movie, ‘Top Gun’ has finally made a comeback in cinemas with a sequel called Top Gun: Maverick.

It was released in cinemas on May 27, 2022. The sequel is being loved by fans worldwide and is proving to be the biggest hit of 2022 so far.

With fans drooling over his outstanding performance in the movie, the charming actor is all over the news and social media.

While the whole world is loving and praising Cruise for his comeback in Top Gun 2, ‘Iron Man 2’ actor Mickey Rourke isn’t impressed with him, not even a single bit.

The Oscar Nominated actor recently appeared on the U.K Television Talk Show Piers Morgan Uncensored and shared his views about Tom Cruise, his acting skills, and his latest box office hit; Maverick.

When host Piers Stefan Morgan asked Rourke about his thoughts on Maverick’s blockbuster success, he replied,

“That doesn’t mean s**t to me,” he told Morgan. “The guy’s been doing the same effing part for 35 years. I got no respect for that.

Really? Asked Morgan.

“Yeah, really, brother,” Mickey answered.

He further added, “I don’t care about money and power. I care about when I watch Al Pacino work and Chris Walken and De Niro’s early work and Richard Harris’s work and Ray Winstone’s work.

“That’s the kind of actor I want to be like. Monty Clift and Brando back in the day. A lot of guys that just tried to stretch as actors.”

Morgan further asked Mickey if he thinks Cruise was a good actor and is rightfully famous, and the 69-year-old replied,

“I think he’s irrelevant in my world.”

Mickey Rourke isn’t the only celebrity to bash Tom after his successful venture in Top Gun 2. The ‘Mission Impossible’ actor was also severely criticized by ‘The King Of Queens’ actress Leah Remini who bashed him for promoting a dangerous organization.

Back in June, Remini shared a tweet in which she praised her friend and former Scientology member, Claire Headley, for calling out Cruise for his alleged crimes against humanity.

She tweeted this on top of a screenshot of Headley’s Facebook post in which she accused Cruise of promoting a dangerous organization.

“Glad all you Top Gun fans are enjoying the new movie. Personally, recent posts about this movie only serve to remind me of Tom Cruise and his crimes against humanity.”

“Extreme, you may think? Destroying families is a crime against humanity — in my opinion. Ask yourself: When was the last time Tom talked to his only biological daughter, Suri? Remember Katie Holmes and her extreme efforts to break free of his and Scientology’s control?

She further said that,

“Tom Cruise promotes a dangerous cult that destroyed my family too, the same cult that almost cost me my marriage and my life.

Cruise and Remini were members of the Scientology Church, but Remini left in 2013, whereas the Vanilla Sky actor is still active.
