Moms Went on 12 hour Trip to Ibiza for £34 and Got Back for School Run

A group of moms traveled to Ibiza for a 12-hour trip and managed to get back in time for the school run.

Rebecca Rattcliff, 38, who works as a travel consultant in Manchester, wanted a day out in the sun with her group of pals, Danielle, Lauren, Laura, Danielle, and Fay.

After thinking for a while, the mums decided they wanted a refreshing getaway away from Manchester, so they booked their return flight to Ibiza for only £34.

“The six mums, who have 15 children between them, booked the flights in February for their March 26 trip,” per Daily Mail.

“Only taking a handbag with them each, they had to be up at 01:30 on Sunday morning to make it to Manchester airport for their 06:00 flight.”

“And once there, they had just 12 hours to pack in as much sun, sea and sangria as possible for flying home at 11pm that night, squeezing in a quick nap and being up the next morning for the school run and work.”

Speaking about their super spontaneous travel venture, Rebecca, a mum-of-four, said she and her pals desperately needed a sunny getaway away from work and daily life responsibilities.

“We were keen to look for a good deal, and everybody loves the Ibiza sunshine. We found Ryanair flights, and we knew that for everyone to be able to come, it had to be on a Sunday.”

The six moms booked their flights in February 2023 and took off to the Balearic Islands on Sunday, March 26.

According to The Mirror, “Going on a day trip also saved the group splashing out on baggage allowance as they only had to bring a handbag each.”

“They paid £10 each for a return minibus to Manchester Airport and were picked up in Ibiza by a transfer company, €27 each to travel around the island.”

Although most of the shops and cafes were closed as it was Sunday, the mummies still enjoyed a lavish brunch at Passion Café in old Ibiza and soaked a good amount of sunshine at San Antonio Bay.

“Quite a lot of the shops were shut but it was scenic and beautiful,” Rebecca said. We had cocktails overlooking the marina and then the transfer picked us up and drove us to San Antonio bay,” said Ratcliff.

“We ended up doing 26k steps just exploring and then we went for a beautiful dinner at a place called Bresca,” she added.

After watching a glorious sunset at Caf Mambo, the mums headed to the airport to catch their flight back to Manchester.

“We also had no idea what time it was because of the clocks changing.”

And they landed back in Manchester early Monday morning, a few hours before their kids’ school time.

“We were so blessed with the weather – the sky was cloudless. It was such a good day – I spent time in gorgeous company with supportive female friends all on the mum journey together,” said Rebecca.

“It was a blissful day off to treasure, and we all felt we’d been there longer than a day. You feel refreshed after 12 hours in the sunshine.”
