BGT boss Simon Cowell reveals he has not had a facelift after show hosts Ant and Dec made a joke about his ‘new face.’
In the first episode of the new series, BGT hosts, Ant and Dec jokes about Cowell’s changing appearance and said,
“We have a new face joining the judging panel,” Dec told the audience.
“What? Simon has a new face?” Ant quipped in response.
The joke caused a stir but instead of scolding the duo for the cheeky quip, Simon laughed off the claims about going under the knife for facial surgery in recent months.
“I think it’s hysterical. I mean, it just makes me laugh. I haven’t had a facelift or anything,” the entrepreneur told The Mirror. He added, “Over the years people have said that I’ve had everything done. But I don’t Google myself so I genuinely don’t have a clue what everyone is saying about me until we do things like BGT.”
Last year, the record music executive and creator of the famous music competition franchises, ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Got Talent’ told The Sun that he is always his biggest critic.
Cowell also told the outlet that he has decided to never have Botox again.
“There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day and didn’t recognize it as me first of all,” he said.
“Eric (his son) was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”
In the last few months, the founder and owner of the British media entertainment company Syco sparked concerns about his changing appearance and unrecognizable facial features in a BGT promo.
According to Daily Mail, “The record label boss sparked concern with his ‘unrecognizable’ appearance at the Royal Variety Performance, which was filmed on December 2 and aired on ITV later that month.”
