Prince Harry Reportedly Seeks Kate Middleton’s Help to Mend Ties

Prince Harry is ready to beg his sister-in-law for help, according to a report from The Blast this week. Citing an unnamed insider who spoke to Star Magazine, the outlet says the Duke of Sussex sees Kate Middleton as his last route back to his brother, Prince William. None of it comes from Harry, Kate or William themselves.

Prince Harry Wants Kate Middleton’s Help to Reconnect with William

Harry is counting on one thing, according to the insider. Kate has influence over William, and Harry wants to use it.

“If anyone can get William to soften, it’s Kate,” the source told Star, adding that Harry has talked about being willing to plead with the Princess of Wales for her help. The Blast frames it as a last resort, after years of strain between the brothers that began when Harry and Meghan Markle left the UK in 2020.

Asking the wife to reach the husband is an old move in families. Brothers who cannot talk to each other often talk through someone else. Kate has been that someone before, and Harry appears to be counting on it happening again.

Kate’s Attitude Towards Harry Has Changed Significantly

Getting Kate on the phone may be the hard part. Star’s source claims her attitude toward Harry has shifted considerably, and that she may no longer be interested in bringing the brothers back together.

Kate once worked openly to clear a path toward reconciliation, according to the same insider. That version of her is the one Harry is reportedly hoping still exists.

Peacemakers get tired. Nobody keeps carrying a message between two people forever, especially when one side keeps making the job harder. A go-between who stops going between has usually decided the cost to herself is too high. Star’s account suggests Kate reached that point some time ago.

The Sussexes’ Return to the UK Upset Kate Middleton

Harry and Meghan came back to Britain in August after six years in Montecito, California. They brought their two children with them.

According to the insider, the move landed as a surprise. The source claims the couple gave no real warning to anyone, the King included, and that Kate saw the decision as disrespectful. The Blast reports she was upset that the plans were never discussed with the family before they happened.

People Magazine had earlier reported that William and Kate were taking a cautious line on the move, with a source describing a deep sense of betrayal and warning that any reconciliation would be slow.

Moving back without telling the people you are moving back to is a strange way to start over.

Friction Between the Sussexes and Waleses Continues to Grow

Nottingham made it worse, according to Star. The source points to what it called a royal style meet-and-greet held by Harry and Meghan there as another source of tension with the Waleses.

Kate now believes she needs to give Harry a wide berth, the insider claims.

Prince Harry’s reported plan, then, rests on the one person in the story who has apparently decided to step back. He wants a bridge. The bridge, if Star’s source is right, has been closing itself for months, and the return in August only sped that up.

Estrangements between siblings rarely break over one event. They pile up: an exit, a silence, an arrival nobody was told about, a public appearance that looks like a statement. Each one gives the other side a fresh reason to stay put. Prince Harry is now on the outside of a family that, by these accounts, has stopped looking for a way to let him back in.

Whether Harry ever makes that call to Kate, and whether she picks up, is still unknown.
